What's a JamShop?
JamShops are safe, structured jamming environments organized by folks who support the goal of the ToneWay Project. JamShops are the perfect environment to start playing music with other people. They are divided into three levels to suit every experience level, from complete beginners on up.
No JamShops near you? All a JamShop Organizer really needs is a desire to arrange the opportunity for folks to make (and learn) music together. No, you don't need to know how to play music to help others play, as we point out in Ways You Can Help Spread the Joy. If your are interesting in organizing a JamShops in your area, drop us a line.
Level 1 & Level 2:
Level 1 welcomes utter “newbies”, while Level 2 is for those with some jam experience.
- learn the “1, 4, 5” chord system
- learn to play this music in any key by ear
- learn to sing out by matching songs to your vocal range
Level 3:
- develop more ‘real-world’ jamming fluency
- learn to kick off songs and take split breaks
- learn to sing multi-part harmony
- learn by exchanging constructive criticism in a safe environment.
